Our Artist - Mrs. Gu, Wenxia
National Grand Master of Chinese Art


Mrs. Gu (March, 1931- ), her art also can be found at the Richard Nixon Library and Birthplace, Jimmy Carter Presidential Library & Museum and the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library. She has pioneered many creative embroidery designs in her career, including the collection of colorful landscapes, animals, portraits, and flowers.


October, 2001 - The Art Studio of Grand Master Gu, Wenxia was established in memory of her great contributions to the nation. The masterpieces of the studio have also been exhibited in many famous museums throughout the world.

1988 - Entitled as Grand Master of Chinese Art, the highest honor for an artist in China.

1986 - Director of Suzhou Embroidery Art Museum, the largest and most famous embroidery museum in China. - Vice Chairman of the Arts & Crafts Association of China

1965 - President and Chief Designer of Suzhou Embroidery Research Institute, the most distinguished embroidery institute in China.



Our Artist - Mrs. Lu, Fuying

-Master of Chinese Suzhou Embroidery Art, one of the most distinguished young Suzhou embroidery artists in China.


Mrs. Lu has been creating Suzhou embroidery art for more than twenty years. Her work has been displayed and exhibited in various museums and galleries in Europe and Japan. She has also traveled to many other countries to demonstrate her remarkable skills. Some of her works include portraits of the Japanese Royal family and the Royal family of Saudi Arabia, both presented as national gifts.


1962: Born in a village near Taihu Lake
1999-1989: Studied at the Embroidery Art Studios of Grand Master Artists Gu, Wenxia and Wang, Zhushi
1996: Found "Lu, Fuying Art Embroidery Center"
1998: Her work "Portrait of Deng, Xiaoping" won first prize in the Chinese Folk Art Exhibition, Beijing
2001: First prize in the Art Expo, Shanghai
2002: First prize in the Master of Fine Arts and Crafts Exhibition, Shanghai
2005: Found "Lu, Fuying Art Embroidery Museum"
2006: Finished Master Piece "View of Jiangnan", 4m x 8m, presented in the Jiangsu Room in the Great Hall of People, Beijing
